Associate Director, Formulary Operations

Our client is looking to fill the role of Associate Director, Formulary Operations. This position will be remote.
Salary up to $160k with 10% bonus Responsibilities:
Formulary Management & Development Lead the creation and ongoing management of tailored formularies across Commercial, Medicaid, and Health Information Exchange business segments (excluding Medicare)
Implement and maintain both customized and standardized formulary programs
Evaluate pharmaceutical products and therapeutic classes to provide strategic formulary placement and utilization management guidance Regulatory Compliance & Strategic Planning Track evolving regulatory and legislative mandates, creating comprehensive project roadmaps for compliance
Direct cross-functional initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
Support quality enhancement and clinical value initiatives as needed Stakeholder Management & Communication Manage partnerships with external vendors and organizations (P&T committees, rebate aggregators, formulary management platforms)
Deliver clinical education and communication to clients, members, and internal teams regarding therapeutic decisions
Provide implementation support to operational teams and client organizations Team Leadership & Clinical Excellence Lead, mentor, and evaluate direct reports through regular performance management and professional development
Establish clinical review criteria for non-formulary and non-preferred medications, delivering evidence-based recommendations
Contribute to Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee activities and decisions Data Analysis & Business Support Analyze prescription utilization data to identify formulary optimization opportunities
Support proposal responses (RFI/RFP) and general business operations as required
Maintain strict adherence to Capital Rx Code of Conduct and report compliance concerns Required Qualifications:
Education & Licensure Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited program with demonstrated academic excellence
Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in good standing
Post-graduate residency or fellowship training preferred Professional Experience 6-8 years of pharmacy practice within health plan or PBM environments
Expertise in specialty medication management, formulary development processes, and pharmacy/medical benefit distinction
Experience managing complex datasets preferred Technical & Soft Skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Superior written and verbal communication abilities
Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex, concurrent projects
Adaptability and flexibility in shifting priorities within a dynamic environment
Meticulous attention to detail with commitment to excellence in work quality
