Program Description
The Bridge Program is a two-year, non-degree certificate program at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. It offers an immersive college experience for young adults with developmental disabilities between the ages of 1824.
Students in the Bridge Program develop and strengthen their skills in the following core areas:

Job Description
The Associate Director of BRIDGE Academic and Student Support is a full-time, 12-month position that supports Bridge students across all areas of their academic and personal development. This position oversees and evaluates the academic staff, works closely with university faculty, and ensures that students are effectively integrated into University of Mount Saint Vincent (UMSV) courses; in addition to assisting in managing the BRIDGE program.
Responsibilities
Oversee all academic components of the Bridge Program, including UMSV and Bridge-specific classes.
Oversee and manage the in-classroom experience for all BRIDGE students.
Communicate and collaborate with UMSV faculty
Supervise, evaluate, and support Bridge instructors.
Develop and implement individualized student behavioral plans.
Participate in student conduct meetings in collaboration with the Dean of Students office.
Supervise BRIDGE student peer mentors and ensure they support students effectively.
Develop and maintain counseling schedules; meeting regularly with counseling center staff.
Assist with overall management of the BRIDGE department which includes, monitoring budgets and creating a strategic success plan for the program
Participate in the Bridge Program admissions and applicant review process.
Plan and conduct ongoing staff trainings.
Represent the program at transition fairs and community events.
Communicate with parents regarding students academic progress and behavioral needs.
Assist in the BRIDGE internship program, supporting and collaborating on student internship opportunities and evaluations.
Attend key university events such as Open Houses, Accepted Students Day, and Commencement
Represent the BRIDGE program in the absence of the Director
Other duties as assigned by the Director for the Bridge program and Dean of Students.
Requirements
Master's degree in special education, Disability Studies, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience working with and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
Experience with developing curricula and implementing behavioral interventions.
Experience managing a classroom and implementing positive teaching strategies.
Experience collaborating with internal and external partners.
Experience in education-based settings, ideally postsecondary
Valid drivers license
Proficient in Microsoft Office

The annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000
