The Associate Director, Digital Platforms leads the technical and strategic evolution of Juilliard’s digital ecosystem, driving the architecture, connectivity, and performance of its public- and private-facing web properties. This role is equal parts platform strategist, technical lead, and cross-functional collaborator, responsible for ensuring seamless integration between content management systems (CMS), constituent databases, ticketing systems, and other core digital tools.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Digital Experience and working in close partnership with the IT Web Team, this role acts as a technical bridge between communications, content, and infrastructure. The Associate Director maintains a deep understanding of Juilliard’s codebase, site architecture, and platform dependencies—ensuring that digital properties not only meet institutional priorities, but are secure, extensible, and future-ready.
This role requires both a hands-on technical background and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate is fluent in APIs and integration strategy, comfortable reading and understanding code, and confident managing cross-platform initiatives in a complex digital environment.
This position requires full-time on-site presence Monday through Friday, with limited remote work availability on an as-needed basis. The role includes evening and weekend event attendance, requiring schedule flexibility beyond standard business hours.
The annual salary is $120,000–$125,000, based on experience, skillset, and qualifications.

Role Responsibilities:
Oversee Juilliard’s web properties, including
www.juilliard.edu ,
my.juilliard.edu
(intranet), and
juilliardstore.com
to engage the Juilliard community of students, staff, and faculty and a growing global community of patrons, alumni, and the general public
Develop and maintain a unified digital platform roadmap that incorporates institutional goals and ensures systems interoperability across departments
Partner with 30+ internal and external content managers, editors, designers, developers, and other school administrators in New York to ensure websites serve school needs and align with institutional brand strategy
Serve as strategist and technical lead for platform integration, including APIs, data syncs, and middleware systems connecting CRM, CMS, ticketing, and marketing platforms Understand and interact with the site codebase to support troubleshooting, feature implementation, and vendor communication; provide meaningful technical input on code-related decisions
Lead collaboration with internal and external developers, designers, and content editors—ensuring alignment between user experience goals and technical architecture
Evaluate and prioritize incoming feature requests, platform upgrades, and content improvements based on business needs, technical feasibility, and user impact Support the design and implementation of secure and scalable API workflows across systems (e.g., Oracle Campus Solutions, Raiser’s Edge, Spektrix, Eloqua, Slate)
Build and maintain a comprehensive analytics dashboard aggregating data from 10+ systems, ensuring visibility into performance across channels
Serve as project manager for new digital initiatives from discovery through deployment, including RFP development, vendor evaluation, and post-launch optimization
Ensure that all digital platforms comply with current WCAG accessibility standards, SEO best practices, and security protocols
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in digital platform strategy, including experience managing CMS, CRM, and API-connected systems
Hands-on experience working within a Drupal (preferably v10) or comparable enterprise-level content management system, including familiarity with theming and module structure Strong working knowledge of APIs, data flows, middleware solutions, and system-to-system integrations
Ability to read and understand front- and back-end codebases to diagnose issues, assess technical needs, and collaborate effectively with developers
Experience with modern deployment workflows and project management tools (e.g., Git, JIRA, Asana)
Proficiency with web analytics platforms (Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, etc.) and SEO optimization tools
Demonstrated experience managing complex platform ecosystems and leading cross-functional initiatives
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to navigate and prioritize multiple timelines in a fast-paced, institutionally complex environment
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively on-site at The Juilliard School.
Preferred Background:
Experience working in higher education, the performing arts, or nonprofit sectors Familiarity with platforms such as Oracle Campus Solutions, Spektrix, Raiser’s Edge, Slate, and Eloqua
Experience building or overseeing API documentation and supporting long-term system governance
Knowledge of digital accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 and ARIA specifications Experience managing site security protocols and user authentication systems
