Highly skilled and knowledgeable Administrative Staff assist our attorneys in successfully meeting and exceeding client needs and are vital to the overall success of the Firm.Job DescriptionThe Associate Director, Corporate Department will work with the Corporate Department Leadership to ensure that the Corporate Department runs smoothly. This role will help to maximize associate retention and productivity by serving as a liaison between the Corporate associates and partners and by working with the partners to develop strategic plans concerning associate performance and productivity. The Associate Director will also support the professional development of the Corporate associates by monitoring and assisting with the associate evaluation process, mentoring program and training program. The Associate Director will work closely with the Sr. Director, Attorney Performance & Professional Development and other team members on various projects, as needed.Primary Responsibilities:Provide general administrative support to the Corporate Department, reporting directly to the Corporate Department Leaders and working very closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Corporate Department. Develop and oversee programs for associate management, retention and morale.Manage attorney timekeeping compliance, attendance compliance, personnel issues and general administrative tasks.Monitor associate and counsel hours.Help new associates, lateral hires, legal interns and trainees integrate, and associates returning from leaves re-integrate into the Department.Participate and assist with the annual New Associate Orientation Program.Provide career guidance and coaching to Corporate Department associates.Manage Corporate Department secondments, and practice group and office transfers.Coordinate with the Sr. Director, Attorney Performance & Professional Development and the Professional Evaluation and Compensation Committee (PECC) on the Firm's evaluation process.Gather and analyze continuous feedback for associates submitted throughout the year. Liaise with the Professional Development Team and the Professional Development Committee (PDC) on the professional development, training needs and mentoring of Corporate associates. Conduct exit interviews.Manage attorney participation in Department priorities.Schedule and develop agenda and follow-up on action items for Corporate Department Partner meetings and Corporate Department Town Halls.Manage office allocations for New York Corporate Department associates and counsel.Liaise with the Recruiting Department to assist with lateral recruiting.Coordinate Department social events and other morale-building activities for attorneys.Any additional responsibilities as required by management. Knowledge Skills and Ability:At least 6 years of relevant legal experience.Extremely strong organizational skillsSelf-initiator who is highly persistent in overseeing projects to successful completion.Strong interpersonal skills to interact with various administrative groups and to work closely with lawyers of all levels within a large law firm setting.Excellent listening skills, exhibits discretion and judgment, and strong diplomatic and influencing skills.Experience with Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.Education/Certifications:Bachelor's degree required.JD strongly preferred, ideally including experience practicing law in a large Corporate department.Estimated salary range is $225,000 - $245,000. Compensation decisions within this range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP offers a competitive compensation package comprised of base pay and discretionary year-end bonus for eligible employees.
