Associate Director Of Brand Analytics The Associate Director of Brand Analytics role for the ecosystem is a position designed to support the customer & market information/insights needs of the assigned Brand Teams. The Insights & Analytics team is a customer-centric function that strives to keep patients and caregivers at the center of insights generation and strategic focus for Otsuka.
The Associate Director role supporting the assigned businesses at Otsuka Pharmaceuticals supports the commercial insights needs for inline brands and early development assets. The Associate Director position is responsible for leading the primary market research and competitive intelligence for Otsuka and reports into the Director of Brand Insights & Analytics. This role will lead the primary market research and competitive intelligence for Otsuka's inline brand and associated LCM opportunities to optimize performance across the indications and to capitalize on ecosystem opportunities.
The Associate Director will be part of a high performing team that provides actionable, innovative insights to address key business questions & opportunities. The position requires a person who can work independently and effectively with limited supervision, while working across a complex matrix environment that includes areas in marketing, sales, sales operations, senior leadership among others. The Associate Director is responsible for the design, execution, and management of multiple market research engagements. In addition, the Associate Director is expected to commission and partner with MR agencies for primary and secondary research in the US and international markets, as needed. The person in this position will be part of the Commercial Insights & Analytics organization and work directly with the assigned brand team.
Qualifications/ Required Knowledge/ Experience and Skills: The Associate Director is required to:
Serve as a strategic partner to the commercial teams to lead the design and delivery of high quality, actionable business insights by conducting market research projects in support of pipeline, prelaunch, and inline products
Lead and conduct appropriate research and insights using innovative approaches to help shape the best insights
Partner cross-functionally on a wide variety of strategic and analytical projects to help drive optimal business decisions
Lead the design and delivery of cross-functional secondary analytics reports including leadership KPI dashboards for monitoring market and brand performance
Lead in-depth situation analyses and SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) of relevant disease areas in support of the annual brand planning process
Lead strategic insights workshops to convert data from primary or secondary market research projects to insights and to uncover Key Business Questions (KBQs) for each brand
Manage the contracted vendor and contribute to and/or lead the development of key insights
Co-lead annual forecasting cycle working closely with forecasting team
Create and manage primary research and CI budgets for the brands
Proactively take ownership of building internal relationships and learning the Otsuka culture
Comfortable working in a dynamic, independent, and fast-paced environment
Represent the I&A team in various business meetings
Have a record of accomplishment of working in high performing teams that deliver exceptional results
Have strong analytical, project management, fiscal management and decision-making skills
Have a positive attitude and be adaptable to a dynamic type of environment without losing focus on business goals
Proven experience and expertise integrating primary and secondary data into synthesized information and insights
Experience selecting, managing, and developing MR agencies to become trusted business partners; to provide exceptional insights; and to communicate clear and cogent stories that drive business value
Affinity for scientific information as well as working knowledge of medical terminology
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, and be well versed in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to interface with Executive Leadership with confidence and subject matter expertise
Educational Qualifications: The Associate Director must have:
Minimum of 7 years of combined primary research and competitive intelligence experience related to pharmaceutical/biotech
Master's degree or MBA required, Ph.D. a plus
Experience within disease area/brands a plus

Minimum $164,530.00 - Maximum $245,985.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate's job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
