The Assisted Living Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an assisted living facility, ensuring quality care for residents, compliance with state and federal regulations, and effective management of staff. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for residents.
Qualifications of the Assisted Living Director:
Must obtain an unencumbered nursing license in the state of Ohio, can accept LPN, but RN is preferred for this role,
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in senior living, healthcare, or facility management.
Knowledge of state and federal assisted living regulations.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage budgets and financial reports.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Key Responsibilities of the Assisted Living Director:
Work primarily in an office setting within the assisted living facility, with regular interaction with staff and residents.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assisted living facility.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for facility operations.
Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
Ensure residents receive high-quality care that meets their physical, emotional, and social needs.
Develop and oversee individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Maintain relationships with residents and families, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
Implement programs and activities to enhance residents' quality of life.
Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff, including caregivers, nurses, and administrative personnel.
Foster a positive work environment and encourage professional development.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.
Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet resident needs.
Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and industry standards.
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Ensure proper documentation of resident care, incidents, and facility operations.
Implement emergency preparedness plans and safety protocols.
Act as the primary liaison between residents, families, and staff.
Promote a culture of transparency and open communication.
Engage with the local community to build positive relationships and partnerships.
