At Cooperative for Human Services Inc. (CHS), we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives. We’re seeking a reliable, compassionate, and motivated Assistant Program Director to help support the leadership of one of our residential programs. In this direct care, hands-on role, you’ll support day-to-day program operations and ensure high-quality, person-centered services for those we serve.
What You’ll Do:
Act as a key support to the Program Director, assisting with daily program operations and assuming responsibility when the Director is unavailable.
Provide direct care and advocacy for individuals served, promoting independence, , and wellbeing.
Support and guide staff , offering leadership, direction, and modeling of best practices aligned with CHS’s mission and values.
Ensure safety and wellness by monitoring health needs, administering medication (with training), and maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment.
Participate in ISP development , help implement support plans, and document progress.
Foster meaningful community engagement by planning and participating in outings and events that reflect the interests of the people we support.
Provide transportation to appointments, events, and recreational activities.
Attend all required training and stay informed on policies, procedures, and regulations.
Respond to emergencies and participate in the on-call rotation as needed.

Requirements:
What You Bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for experience.
At least 1 year of relevant experience in human services required.
Prior leadership experience strongly .
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Valid driver’s license (MA, NH, RI) and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to lift 30 lbs and meet the physical demands of the role.
