Job overview:
The Assistant Director Patient Care manages patient care delivery on an assigned shift. Ensure that unit department division is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Required:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
At least 2 years acute care nursing experience or 2 years acute care nursing experience with previous management experience in Renal Transplant
Completion of all Orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
Successful completion of all orientation programs
Special Equipment Skills
Meets requirements as defined by applicable Department Specific Equipment Competency Checklist,
Preferred:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Additional certifications may be required as per the Administrative Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation “Certification” Policy
Scheduling Requirements:
Full Time
Days
37.5 hrs. weekly
Weekend expectations based on needs staffing, at minimum 1 weekend shift every other weekend
No Holidays, but will work the day either before or after the holiday
Essential Functions:
Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services. Assists the staff with the development/implementation of the nursing process (i.e. admission assessment, discharge plans and patient teaching). Delegates prioritize work assignments according to the individual associates’ competence and patient care needs. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility in managing resources, staff and supplies. Follows established guidelines for staffing & scheduling policies, as related to daily staffing, OT, and budgetary justification.
