Job Overview: RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Operating Room Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ.

In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the-art campus expansion featuring a new four-story 87,000 square foot building with a private, 32 bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department Qualifications: Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school Minimum of 3 years' experience in Operating room Successful completion of all Orientation Programs Maintains current BEST training; obtains within 3 months of initial assignment Preferred: MSN from an accredited school Certifications and Licenses Required: Current Registered Nurse License in the State of New Jersey Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Certifications as required by law, stature, and/or regulation for area or specialization Scheduling Requirements : Day Shift, 37.5 hours a week Full-Time Monday
- Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation Essential Functions: Provides 24 hour accountability for patient care delivery Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on his/her nursing unit in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies Develops, implements and maintains unit budget, Participates in nursing quality assurance Maintains unit administration including scheduling and maintains of supplies and equipment Uses and understands the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services Promotes quality of patient care through the following: Develops/revises plan for patient care delivery in assigned areas; Identifies and corrects actual/potential problems; Recommends/selects appropriate indicators to measure performance; Implements and enforces the national patient safety goals; Communicates QA & PI findings as required Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
