The Assistant Director of Testing Center is responsible for the effective administration and day-to-day operations of the Georgia College & State University Testing Center. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with departments and academic programs to administer student learning assessments, coordinates testing services for Georgia College students who receive accommodations under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and provides a proctored testing site for members of the surrounding community. This is a twelve-month, full-time, on-campus position. The Assistant Director is a member of the Enrollment Management Leadership Team and reports to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management and University Registrar.
Responsibilities
Daily Operations - 70 - Implements a variety of testing programs and related processes, including test scheduling, registration, administration, test security, and scoring/reporting results for local, state, and national exams - Collaborates with academic colleges and departments to provide testing services for student and program assessment - Creates and executes the Testing Center's communication plan - Manages University facilities and equipment in a manner that promotes a secure, welcoming, and effective testing environment - Implements, maintains, and troubleshoots all testing software and technology - Consults service personnel and providers as needed - Manages department budget, include budget planning, approval of purchases, and use of University purchasing card and complies with all budgetary policies and requirements - Develops and maintains databases to track student testing information, to provide data and reports, and to inform decision making - Ensures that institutional and student records are accurately updated and maintained, including making updates to student data in the University's student information system - Provides superior customer service to students, families, faculty, staff, and the general public
Compliance - 10 - Protects the integrity of GCSU's testing program and testing results through exact compliance with relevant University, University System of Georgia, and external testing program standards, policies, and procedures - Uses the National College Testing Association Standards and Guidelines to evaluate and improve office services - Ensures the security of tests and the testing environment, including measures to prevent cheating - Collaborates with the Student Disability Resource Center and provides appropriate testing accommodations for students with physical or learning disabilities in accordance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Supervision - 10 - Hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates Testing Center staff.
Community Membership and Support - 5 - Serves as the office representative and liaison with other university offices and programs - Promotes effective communication and positive relationships with all members of the University community
Other - 5 - Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree
Required Experience One to three years direct experience with testing coordination and administration, or three to five years of experience with comparable college and university student services.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's or other graduate degree
Preferred Experience Prior experience with student test proctoring or testing compliance.
