The Assistant Director of Nursing is a registered professional nurse, who is primarily concerned with the organization and administration of nursing service as a whole. Develops and maintains nursing services objectives and standards of nursing service practice, develops service policies and procedures and writes job descriptions for nursing service personnel. Organizes, develops, and directs nursing administration and patient care. Orients, instructs, and supervises personnel and functions. Regularly inspects facility and nursing practices for compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations. The Assistant Director is responsible to the Director of Nursing. Responsible for planning and implementation of resident care for the nursing home residents; Provides direct supervision of licensed and non-licensed nursing staff; Assist with provision of education to nursing home staff; Assist with facilitation quality improvement activities throughout the nursing home; Acts as resource person to NH administrative team, department managers and medical staff; Assists with safety and risk management issues; Assists with oversight responsibility for all regulatory body surveys. Job Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and holds current licensure in the state of GA as a registered professional nurse. An Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent, BSN preferred. Experience as staff nurse and manager.
