Responsibilities

Assist the DON in working with management staff, Administrator, and Consultants in planning all aspects of the nursing operation, including setting priorities and job assignments.

Monitor each unit’s activities, communicate policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback, and assist, coach, and discipline as needed.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, staff, and the medical team.

Conduct regular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care, coordinate with other support services, ensure the cleanliness and appearance of residents, and maintain staff morale to proactively meet residents’ needs.

Carry out, coordinate, and manage administrative functions in areas or programs related to Nursing Services.

Requirements

COVID Vaccination Required

Must possess valid unencumbered RN State License. Nursing degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Minimum three (3) years of clinical nursing experience within a hospital, nursing care center or other related healthcare setting.

Experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.

Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.

Strong communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.

Knowledge to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

Supportive team member who contributes to and exemplifies teamwork and team concept.

Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, and applicable laws and guidelines for nursing care facilities.
