The Assistant Director of Marketing and Revenue Generation plays a key role in enhancing the visibility, energy, and impact of USD Athletics through creative marketing strategies, campus engagement, and innovative revenue strategies.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Revenue Generation and Innovation, this position helps lead efforts to grow attendance, generate excitement, and build brand affinity across USD's ticketed sports programs and beyond.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Revenue Generation and Innovation in executing a comprehensive, long-term revenue generation strategy for USD Athletics.
Collaborate in and support community and student outreach while driving brand recognition.
Implement strategies for promotional planning, digital marketing, and branding to drive both revenue and engagement.
Collaborate in and support with all aspects of the Marketing and Promotions Department.
Student Engagement: Implement promotional strategies tailored to students, faculty, staff, and the San Diego community.
Assist in the development and execution of multi-channel marketing plans to increase visibility and attendance.
Activate campus partnerships and student organizations to drive student attendance.
Staff Supervision & Development: Recruit, train, and manage a team of student workers and marketing interns.
Oversee assignment of gameday responsibilities and evaluate performance to foster leadership development.
Ticket Sales and Inventory Optimization: Work closely with the ticketing department to help with community outreach and group sales.
Collaborate in ticketing initiative to drive attendance and generate revenue.
Special Projects & External Engagement: Support planning and execution of special events, including theme nights, community initiatives, and student engagement activations.
Assist with grassroots outreach efforts in conjunction with ticketing and sponsorship staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in marketing, promotions or a related field is required.
Experience working in college athletics, live event operations, or related environments.
Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of experience in sports marketing or event presentation preferred.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere) and/or other creative tools.
