POSITION PURPOSE: Supervises and directs the financial activities of the resort, safeguards the assets and prepares all financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Serves as a financial advisor to Resort Management and Ownership. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Monitors and approves all sales, purchases, salaries and expenses of the resort. •Analyzes financial data of operations in order to advise management and to assist in maintaining an efficient operation. •Prepares, reviews and presents the Monthly report of Operations. •Prepares forecast and budgets as required (Annual, Revised Annual, Monthly, and/or on Corporate/Owner’s requests). •Oversees all contracts and legal agreements, and assists Management in maintaining all licenses, permits, insurance and contracts. •Hires, trains and supervises Finance staff including coaching, counseling and discipline. •Establishes and audits all internal financial controls, including purchasing, cash handling and disbursements, inventories, Resort equipment, master keys, and personnel time records. •Lead effort in achieving 100% compliance in the ICQ (Internal Controls Questionnaire). OTHER: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Trump National Doral – Miami from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the industry, that we are in a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as a result there will be times when our associates in the Operation will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained. SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: •Maintain an open line of communication between guests, associates and management. •Assist office in any other administrative duties as needed. •Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. •Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing in order to prepare official memorandum and correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling to all associates. •Must have knowledge of departmental operations. •Must have knowledge of computers and training techniques. •Ability to analyze complex financial reports and make judgments. •Must have knowledge of business law, federal, state and local taxes, as well as Department of Labor regulations. •Must have knowledge of insurance, associate benefits, claims and liability. •Ability to exercise judgment in evaluating situations and in making sound decisions. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: EDUCATION: (4) Four year college degree required, preferably in Accounting. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3-5 years Finance experience for major Resort Company in a similar size operation. Prior experience in a resort with golf and spa preferred.
