Pier Sixty-Six Resort is looking for a seasoned, eager, and enthusiastic Assistant Director of Finance to join the team. The resort features a 32-acre waterfront setting with 325 guest rooms, suites and villas, 91 Private Resort Residences, 12 restaurants and lounges, a spa, pool options and a waterfront promenade with retail and dining. Responsibilities Assist in management of the accounting team, lead and influence others, advocate sound financial and business decision making, demonstrate honesty and integrity, and lead by example. Oversee internal, external and regulatory audit processes. Maintain ongoing communication with employees to align with business objectives, communicate expectations, and recognize performance. Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within the team and with employees. Provide effective leadership, differentiate top performers, foster teamwork, and support work/life balance. Participate in the employee performance appraisal process and ensure disciplinary procedures and documentation follow Standard and Local Operating Procedures. Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently and maintain an open-door policy to solicit feedback. Generate accurate and timely financial results through reports and presentations; analyze information to select the best solution and solve problems; oversee pre-opening budget and procedures. Ensure the P&L is accurate and statements are delivered timely; reconcile balance sheet; ensure current and proper tax rates for sales/use tax. Ensure compliance with SOPs/LSOPs; ensure balances are supported by documentation; review audit issues and make corrections as needed. Leverage centralized accounting processes and shared services; apply accounting knowledge and stay up-to-date with relevant issues, products, systems, and processes. Utilize information systems to generate financial reports and provide managers with analytical support to drive decision-making. Provide financial information and guidance to executives and management; attend critique meetings; advise the Director of Finance on operating and financial issues. Communicate financial concepts clearly to drive desired behaviors; provide direction to other units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures. Ensure timely submission of reports and monitor tax compliance; support a strong internal control environment to safeguard assets and manage risks. Maintain and monitor financial targets, including profit and loss documentation, budgets, and goals; develop specific goals and plans to organize work. Provide timely information to leadership and other stakeholders as required. Qualifications 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; relevant experience also considered. Strong PC skills including Excel, Word, and financial accounting systems; strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
