Basic Function : Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Finance department. To ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and accounting processes. To develop and maintain a well-trained staff to support the overall financial wellbeing of the resort. Position reports to the Director of Finance.
Core Responsibilities : Assist in leading all financial operations of the resort, particularly the following functions in the Finance department: A/P, A/R, Payroll, Income Audit, G/L. Evaluate and understand financial information to determine course of action. Direct or prepare accurate financial reports and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines. Assisting in preparation of Forecasts and annual Budget. Lead accounting team members to ensure they receive proper training and guidance to accomplish required tasks. Learn basic knowledge of all staff accounting positions in order to train, assist, or in the event of turnover, absence, or PTO be able to perform the required tasks. Ensure property follows all applicable rules and regulations regarding taxes, licenses, leases, and agreements. Analyzes financial data and operations to maximize objectives. Work with operational team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Work with operations on opportunities to optimize the asset. Timely and accurate HOA financial reporting and audit. Balance sheets reconciled accurately and timely. Assist with audits and other financial reviews. Work quickly and accurately under pressure and prioritize multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Handle confidential and sensitive financial information. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements : A college degree or equivalent experience. A minimum of five years hotel accounting experience is preferred, with at least two years being in a management role. Must be able to understand financial data and calculate related arithmetic functions. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Able to work independently or as part of a team. Able to communicate and convey information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. Service oriented. Highly proficient in Excel and all Microsoft Office Programs. Able to identify potential problems in the workplace and effectively resolve them. Legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States.
