Position Summary Information
Summary Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations, co-manages the day-to-day operations, maintenance, event management, and scheduling of Van Dyne Gymnasium, James Totman Stadium, John C. Funk Stadium and the CBU Soccer Stadium. This position is individually responsible for the event management of conference and non-conference home contests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.
Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department.
Maintain assigned athletic facilities in a state of readiness for all athletic, internal, and external events.
Coordinate with University facilities and athletic grounds for the upkeep of Van Dyne Gymnasium and the outdoor athletics complex by processing work orders and serving as the liaison with third-party vendors.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and ensure compliance of NCAA, Conference (and all other organizations in which the University holds membership) rules, regulations, and deadlines governing Athletic sports.
Ensure compliance with NCAA and conference regulations by applying knowledge of event management and game environment rules, including event setup and adherence to established protocols.
Maintain up-to-date information on sports regulations, rule changes, and NCAA policies. Report any compliance issues regarding countable athletically related activities (CARA) or student-athlete welfare.
Act as the athletic liaison with Provider Contract Food Service, CBU Safety Services, CBU Conferences and Events, and other campus departments related to assigned facilities and events.
Maintain facility usage schedule and approve game schedules in coordination with other department personnel.
Adhere to all institutional, conference, and NCAA by-laws and regulations.
Ensure the physical, emotional, and social welfare of student-athletes.
Establish a safe environment for student-athletes.
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises student-workers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment could be moderate to loud. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Secondary-level athletic experience preferred.
