Description: The Assistant Director for Advancement, Annual Giving reports to the Assistant Vice President for Advancement and will focus on building a year-round fundraising plan for the Annual Fund, the foundation of the school’s fundraising initiatives. The fundraising plan will include goals, strategies, and programming that aim to build and engage our donor base. This person will also work to ensure effective administration of annual fund gifts through acknowledgment letters and the delivery of any necessary reports and communications, such as pledge reminders, to appropriate constituents. Through a variety of means, this individual will identify, cultivate, and steward meaningful relationships with established and potential donors, seeking and securing gifts for the Annual Fund, as well as identifying potential major giving and planned giving prospects. This is a year-round, full-time position without supervisory responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• One to three years of relevant experience in an advancement-related role in an
educational environment, ideally in Christian higher education.
• A strong sense of ethics and practices, and respect for confidentiality of
donor information.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and empathetic
approach.
• Willingness to be part of a collaborative environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve fundraising goals. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate persuasively, clearly, and effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor. Responsibilities: • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Vice President for Advancement to successfully create, manage, and meet a comprehensive fundraising plan and appeal schedule for The Annual Fund.
• Work with the Assistant Vice President for Advancement to set dollar, participation, and qualitative goals for the annual giving program.
• Leverages a variety of media (e.g., electronic solicitation, direct mail appeals, face-to-face solicitations, events) to communicate with potential and current donors.
• Spearhead special fundraisers working in collaboration with advancement and communications staff.
• Build relationships with constituents and personally solicit an assigned pool of prospects as appropriate.
• Analyze results of the fund by tracking progress from year to year and generate reports and statistics for monthly Advancement staff meetings.
• Attend on-campus and off-campus events, as appropriate.
• Assist with prospect research.
