Role Overview The Associate Director of Account Management will lead a team of Client Relationship Consultants in our Group Benefits space. This leadership role involves collaborating with regional leaders to manage and develop the team, partnering with Sales Reps to meet sales and retention goals, and maintaining a business block to ensure profitability. The role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, with a focus on leadership, influence, and tactical execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategically address problems and develop solutions.
Develop leadership competencies.
Set expectations, establish goals, and mentor team members.
Support the team on service issues, negotiations, retention, and renewals.
Collaborate with sales on additional products and services.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in group benefits account management or equivalent.
2+ years of management or leadership experience preferred.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Life/Health license within 90 days.
Advanced knowledge of industry products.
Strong relationship-building and motivational skills.
Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to travel 20-40%, including overnight stays.
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $109,000 - $129,000 annually (non-exempt, hourly). Opportunities for bonuses and incentives are available based on performance. The actual salary will depend on location, experience, and qualifications.
Additional benefits include Flexible Time Off, pension eligibility, and remote work options within specified territories.
Location & Work Authorization Preferred locations are Northern California, Seattle, or Portland. The role is remote with periodic office visits. Applicants must have valid work authorization; sponsorship is not available.
