Posting Details Business Title Assistant Athletics Director, Development Posting Category Athletics Salary Grade 06 Salary Plan Professional Non Bargaining Hiring Range /Pay Rate Department Athletics Administration Department Description Position Location Main Campus FTE 1.0 Job Summary Develops and executes Cleveland State University (CSU) Department of Athletics activities in revenue generation areas of alumni engagement and fundraising with focus on increasing philanthropic support for Viking Fund annual giving program, sport specific accounts and the Athletics department’s Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) plan. Supports CSU Athletics NIL vision while cultivating long-term partnerships essential to the sustained success of CSU Athletics. Develops systems that maximize CSU’s resources and brand. Creates organizational procedures to optimize efficiency as it relates to NIL. Monitors and reports on all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) compliance associated with NIL. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sports management, business administration, communications, or related field.
NCAA Division I athletics corporate partnership sales, ticket sales, media rights, marketing, and/or fundraising. Experience includes any graduate assistant or internship roles.
Leadership experience.
Ability to travel and work evening and weekend hours as required.
Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under the CSU’s Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree, preferably in sports management, business administration, communications, or related field.
Business relationships with the business community in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
Successful revenue generation in fundraising and/or sponsorships.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have a “Customer Focus” attitude and delivery.
Ability to efficiently multi-task and provide responsiveness within and outside of the organization.
Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources.
Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
