JOB SUMMARY
The Area of Director of Revenue is a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, cross-functional revenue strategy that integrates sales, marketing, operations, and pricing to drive long-term profitability across all channels. This role requires a data-driven, technologically adept, and customer-focused approach torevenue management, ensuring that all decisions are informed by market insights, AI-driven analytics, and loyalty program engagement.
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Revenue with a dotted line to the Corporate Directors of Sales and Digital Marketing and two property General Managers, this position will manage two hotels and leads the entire revenue functions , aligning strategies across multiple properties while ensuring a unified "one vision" approach to revenue optimization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Operational Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy that aligns sales, marketing, and operations. Implement AI-driven forecasting models to anticipate demand fluctuations and optimize pricing. Oversee pricing and distribution strategies, ensuring maximum profitability while maintaining guest value. Monitor market trends and competitor performance to proactively adjust revenue strategies. Ensure seamless integration of revenue management systems and predictive analytics tools. Managerial Responsibilities Lead weekly revenue meetings, ensuring data-driven decision-making across departments. Supervise the implementation of dynamic pricing models and revenue management technology. Break down departmental silos, fostering a collaborative approach to revenue growth. Provide strategic oversight on loyalty-driven revenue initiatives and customer-centric pricing models. Drive transformational leadership, influencing teams to adopt innovative revenue strategies. Establish and track key revenue KPIs , ensuring accountability and continuous performance improvement. Analyze booking pace trends, segmentation shifts, and competitive positioning , adjusting strategies proactively. Guest Services Utilize guest data and insights to develop personalized pricing and promotional strategies. Ensure all revenue decisions align with guest experience and brand expectations. Balance profitability with customer satisfaction by maintaining fair and ethical pricing structures. Integrate loyalty-driven promotions that enhance guest retention and maximize revenue per available room (RevPAR). Foster a revenue strategy that enhances the guest journey and overall satisfaction. Team Support and Training Educate and upskill teams on revenue analytics, pricing strategies, and AI-driven forecasting tools. Provide mentorship and training to sales, marketing, and operations teams on revenue optimization. Cultivate a culture of commercial success through continuous learning and shared accountability. Lead change management initiatives to align teams with evolving revenue strategies and technological advancements. Communicate complex data insights in an accessible way to stakeholders across all departments. Communication and Reporting Present complex revenue insights in an accessible way for cross-departmental stakeholders. Oversee financial reporting, including monthly and annual revenue performance reviews. Conduct P&L reviews, identifying revenue gaps and recommending strategic improvements. Collaborate with corporate and property leadership to ensure revenue strategies align with business goals. Maintain transparent communication with executive teams on revenue trends and market shifts. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with brand and industry revenue management standards. Advocate for ethical pricing models that prioritize long-term guest trust and brand sustainability. Monitor and enforce fair pricing practices to maintain competitive integrity. Uphold financial integrity by aligning revenue strategies with corporate financial objectives. Stay updated on regulatory requirements impacting pricing, revenue management, and distribution. Adhere and ensure compliance with Valencia Hotel Collection's brand standards, federal and local laws and company policies Report unsafe conditions immediately. Physical Requirements Sitting: Frequent (analyzing data, reports, and system management) Standing/Walking: Occasional (meetings, team collaboration) Lifting/Carrying: Light (office supplies, computer, reports) Other Physical Requirements: Ability to handle a face paced, high volume work environment Working Environment Interior: Office setting, traveling to hotels occasionally for hotel site visits and hotel conferences Exterior: Limited, unless required for property meetings BASICS Primarily day shifts, with flexibility for strategy meetings and reporting deadlines. Availability for urgent related matters outside of scheduled hours as needed. Job is located in downtown San Antonio. Maintain a clean and organized workspace Display courteous behavior with guests and team members Ensure equipment is in proper working condition Take on additional duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 6 - 10 years of progressive revenue management experience, with at least 2 - 4 years in a multi property role. Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Certification in CRME (Certified Revenue Management Executive) or similar industry credential preferred Expertise in revenue management systems, AI-driven forecasting and data analytics. Proficiency in revenue management systems (RMS), PMS, and Excel Detail-oriented with a strategic and proactive approach Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex data insights into actionable strategies. Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-property teams Experience in multi-property hotel revenue management is preferred Strong leadership skills with a track record of cross-functional collaboration. Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities Education and Experience The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of progressive revenue management experience, with at least four years in a multi-property role in the upscale independent or branded segment. Proven expertise in strategic revenue leadership, pricing optimization, and demand forecasting is essential, along with the ability to integrate branding and commercial strategy within a revenue management function to drive profitability and guest engagement. A strong background in AI-driven forecasting tools, data analytics, and dynamic pricing models is highly preferred. Additionally, the candidate should have a demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional collaboration, aligning sales, marketing, and operations to achieve revenue goals. Experience leading change management initiatives and implementing innovative revenue strategies is also critical for success in this role. Certification in CRME (Certified Revenue Management Executive) or similar industry credential preferred.
