Position Summary:
We are seeking an Area Director of Plant Services to oversee plant operations and facilities management across multiple assisted living communities. This role plays a key part in ensuring all buildings, grounds, and infrastructure are safe, compliant, and well-maintained, while fostering an environment that supports the well-being of our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee plant services operations across multiple communities
Ensure compliance with building codes, OSHA, fire safety, and state regulations
Implement preventive maintenance and life safety programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and generator systems
Direct emergency preparedness and disaster recovery planning
Conduct community site visits, inspections, and condition assessments
Manage capital improvement projects and large-scale repairs
Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts to ensure cost-effective, quality service
Support budget oversight and identify cost-saving opportunities
Train and supervise community-level maintenance staff
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a resident-centered environment
Qualifications & Experience:
3–5 years of facilities/plant operations experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role within senior living, healthcare, or long-term care
Strong regulatory compliance knowledge and a proven track record of deficiency-free state surveys
Experience managing maintenance across multiple sites strongly preferred
Proficient in HVAC, plumbing, fire systems, and technical documentation
Experience with DSSI/TELS, Microsoft Office, and budget management tools

Skilled in interpreting blueprints, codes, and technical documentation
Commitment to resident-centered care and safety
Work Conditions & Travel:
80–90% travel required, including overnight stays and potential semi-permanent placement at a community
Must be available for emergency situations after hours, including nights and weekends
Requires physical ability to perform inspections, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.
