This is a two-year contract position with potential extension or conversion to career status based on department needs. Hybrid worksite. 100% appointment.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive AI engagement and adoption plan to maximize utilization of AI platforms across UC San Diego.
Act as a liaison with academic and administrative units to promote awareness, understanding, and use of AI technologies.
Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI integration into teaching, research, and administrative workflows and practices.
Design and facilitate trainings, workshops, and events to increase engagement and user confidence.
Create and distribute communications, marketing materials, and adoption resources.
Track adoption metrics, report progress, and recommend strategies for improvement.
Stay current on trends in AI and higher education to ensure UC San Diego remains at the forefront of innovation.
Collaborate with ITS, OSI, and other campus partners to align engagement goals with broader university strategy.
Engage in campus business development initiatives and partnerships across academic and administrative areas to advance UC San Diego’s mission.
Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of organizational development and effectiveness, including models and methods to drive large-scale adoption and cultural change.
Strong project management experience, including planning, implementation, and measurement.
Demonstrated expertise in consulting, facilitation, and relationship building across diverse stakeholder groups.
Experience designing and delivering training content, workshops, and adoption campaigns.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define and measure adoption outcomes.
Proven ability to influence and coach individuals and groups at all levels.
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-moving environment.
Passion for and knowledge of AI technologies, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with organizational change management and/or technology adoption in higher education (preferred).
Experience in marketing, communications, and event management (preferred).
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred).
Project Management Education or Certification (preferred).
Change Management Education or Certification (preferred).
Special Conditions
Job offer contingent upon satisfactory background check results.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range $108,100 – $204,900 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly equivalent: $51.77 – $98.13.
The Hiring Pay Scale shown is the budgeted salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader due to internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (where applicable).
