Calvert County Nursing Center - Position Summary:
Calvert County Nursing Center is looking for an Admissions Director that will lead the Admissions Department and work daily to increase the residents census goals by working with the facility’s clinical team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing admissions and marketing in a healthcare environment. Additionally, the Admissions Director will lead and coordinate the residents admissions process, referral management process, and admission sign-in, through post-admissions in the way that promotes resident dignity and demonstrates a positive image to residents, families, visitors, and peers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must be a great communicator
Able to organize and prioritize many tasks effectively
5 - 7 years of experience in an Admissions/Marketing role in a healthcare environment
Long-Term care experience required
Knowledge of Medicare and 3rd-party billing
Knowledge of medical terminology
Must be detail oriented and have excellent customer service skills
Able to react to emergency situations appropriately when required
Must be able to travel locally by personal automobile as required
Must be available to work on weekends and work with the clinical staff to admit new residents
Essential Functions:
Overseeing the admissions process: Managing the intake of new residents and ensuring a smooth transition into the facility.
Working with Families: Communicating with residents and their families to address concerns and facilitate the admissions process. Schedules and conduct facility tours for customers, families, and follow up on referrals.
Working With Clinical Staff: Participates and assists with admission and other appropriate clinical topics to hospitals, physicians, and other potential referral sources.
Supervising Admissions Staff: Leading and managing the admissions team to ensure efficient operations. Provide feedback and training.
Staying Updated on Regulations: Keeping abreast of regulatory changes and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Preparing Reports: Compiling and presenting daily admissions activity reports to the executive team. Records information concerning inquires, admissions, and discharges and assists present daily census numbers and reports. Also, reviews performance statistics including customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, hospital discharges, and sales activity.
Marketing To The Community: Be the representative for Calvert County Nursing Center. Attend events, present information and create promotions, publications, and newsletters, etc.
Follow up with all referrals in a timely manner.
In accordance with the Admission Sign-In policy and procedure, make sure all paperwork is signed and distributed appropriately.
