Position Overview: This full-time, on-site leadership role is responsible for overseeing the IT and Informatics departments within a regional healthcare system in the Pacific Northwest. The successful candidate will plan, organize, and direct technology functions to enhance network reliability, speed, and serviceability while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the MIS/Communications and Informatics teams, including IT, telecommunications, and cybersecurity operations. Develop and implement IT programs aligned with the organization's strategic goals. Establish and enforce policies for procurement, installation, support, security, and productivity of network infrastructure, phone systems, third-party connectivity, and disaster recovery plans. Oversee data center operations and maintain system security as the HIPAA Security Officer. Collaborate with department leaders to design and implement technology solutions that meet organizational needs. Stay informed on healthcare IT trends and educate management on emerging technologies and regulatory standards. Manage vendor relationships and staffing to maintain a skilled, efficient technical team. Prepare and administer the annual IT and Informatics budget.
Education: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, engineering, or computer science is required. A master's degree is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience: At least five years of experience managing technical functions such as data processing, systems analysis, cybersecurity, defect resolution, strategy development, and project management is essential. Expertise with Epic EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable.
