Administrative Assistant to Staff Director/Manager

Performs high-level administrative support for a FedEx Legal Managing Director (MD) and other staff members in the Legal department. Maintains the office and/or department daily administrative operations, which includes handling situations of varying complexity that can often not be brought to the immediate attention of the MD.
Essential Functions:
Performs clerical functions which may require knowledge of general business and office procedures including maintaining follow-up files, assembling materials for reports and using a personal computer.
Receives and escorts visitors.
Receives, date stamps and distributes department mail.
Schedules appointments and maintains calendar for management and coordinates arrangements for staff meetings, business travel, seminars, etc.
Answers and screens telephone calls.
Processes, coordinates, and follows up with vendor accounting on bills received for payment and expense reports and relieves management of administrative duties.
Composes emails, letters for items such as equipment repairs, unit schedules, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED.
Three (3) years related business experience.
Experience as a legal administrative assistant preferred.
Experience in utilizing Microsoft applications.
Good spelling, punctuation and basic English grammar skills.
Familiarity with and ability to operate office equipment.
Good human relations and communication skills.
Domicile/Work Location:
This position will be central meaning the successful candidate will be required to work onsite at the Memphis FedEx Campus location.
