As the Activity Programs Director , you will plan, coordinate and facilitate activities and programs for seniors residing our community. The Activity Programs Director will manage teams, systems, strategic planning, and implementation of programs and services for Assisted Living residents while maintaining regulatory compliance. Through dynamic and expert leadership, the Activity Programs Director will help ensure residents are offered diverse and engaging life-long learning opportunities consistent with the award winning standard for which Belmont Village is well known. Supported by our experienced Regional and Corporate teams, the Activity Programs Director will help cultivate a culture of collaboration and excellence. YOUR TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes resident socialization, growth, learning & development by planning, implementing & engaging residents for activities in the following categories:  physical/ exercise, entertainment, social, religious, recreational/creative, volunteering, intellectual, special requests of residents
Coordinates and accompanies scheduled outings as needed
Develops an informative monthly newsletter including a calendar of community events
Plans, coordinates & implements decor for special events, seasons and holidays.
Manages Drivers and Activity Support Volunteers including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching
Provides technological support and training to residents as needed
Recruits, trains & coordinates volunteers to support community activities and events
Works collaboratively with community management, regional and corporate support teams
Effectively communicates with and offers support to resident family members as needed
Conducts interviewing and hiring, evaluates employee performance, provides coaching and employee training, and delegates assignments for all direct reports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associates degree in recreational therapy, education, or related field; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
Minimum of 1 year of management experience
Experience coordinating and leading activities with groups of 15 or more required
Experience with older adult engagement and therapeutic program design preferred
Demonstrated strengths in creativity, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
Demonstrated success in the use of technology in activities and technology troubleshooting skills
Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
Class C - CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred
Ability to work flexible schedules in 24 hour operation including weekends as needed
Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
Must successfully complete State and FBI background check, TB test, and drug test
