Location: The Charlotte, 9120 Willow Ridge Rd, Charlotte, NC 28210, USA. This position is based at The Charlotte site in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities Represent the campus in a positive manner while creating an environment that fosters respect and courtesy for members and employees alike. Works within the campus programs to promote safety and the well-being of all members and employees.
Uphold the Company’s Mission Statement.
Maintain HIPAA standards and regard all medical or healthcare information pertaining to members and employees as confidential.
Supervise Life Enrichment Leaders and be responsible for training and onboarding for this position.
Meet and interview new members and family members to learn member preferences, lifelong interests, favorite things, and daily routines.
Develop relationships with organizations in the local community (e.g., galleries, museums, theaters, acting groups, chamber of commerce, men’s clubs, women’s clubs).
Lead and/or participate in scheduled activities, encourage participation, track attendance and member satisfaction, and incorporate input from members and families to improve activities.
Assist in providing adaptations for members’ individual needs (environment accessibility, leadership techniques, and adaptations).
Set up and maintain all activity spaces and ensure cleanliness of areas designated for activities.
Communicate with the Concierge to assist members with sign-ups for transportation, activities, outings, and distribution of games and puzzles.
Recruit, organize, train, and supervise volunteers providing assistance with or conducting activities for the Healthcare Department, with the help of Life Enrichment Leaders.
Develop and implement recognition plans for members’ birthdays (cards, balloons, flowers, special dessert, etc.).
Prepare monthly calendar items promoting planned activities and other matters of interest to members.
Organize, facilitate, support, and assist in the operation of Member Council/Resident Council meetings.
Maintain an updated inventory of all equipment, supplies, and tools used within the department.
Adhere to state regulations for proper documentation in residents’ charts for activities/programming. May participate in care plan meetings as requested by the Healthcare Administrator.
Adhere to budgetary guidelines assigned to the Member Services Department.
Other Duties and Responsibilities This business operates 24-7, 365 days a year; be flexible to meet the needs of the community as necessary.
Occasional travel may be required for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.
Know fire and safety procedures, including those involving blood-borne pathogens.
Maintain professional appearance and attire per policy.
Participate in professional improvement workshops and continuing education related to geriatric activity management.
Engage with marketing tours and prospective Members; maintain excellent Member and employee relations and handle complaints constructively.
Complete company-assigned monthly training sessions via the Relias website.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Healthcare Administrator.
Occasionally operate a vehicle for Company purposes or to facilitate resident/member needs and requests.
Prerequisites Education High school graduation or GED required.
CPR and AED certification required (must be attained in first 60 days of employment).
Activities certification desired.
Four year college or university degree in Recreation Therapy or similar field desired.
Direct Previous Experience Two years\' experience with geriatrics required.
Two years\' experience in a similar activities position required.
Skills Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook) plus willingness to learn other programs.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Maintain a professional manner and high level of confidentiality.
Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as specified by the Company and its insurer.
Abilities Work indoors most of the day; be able to climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally.
Lift up to 25 pounds overhead and move objects up to 40 pounds.
Remain standing for extended periods and respond to medical emergencies if needed.
