Overview Activities Director (Program and Outreach Director) at Phoenix Senior Living – The Bungalows at Bowling Green , Bowling Green, KY. The Program and Outreach Director reports directly to the Executive Director. Responsibilities Develop, lead and oversee a resident-centered activities and outreach program that promotes the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy and wellness across emotional, purpose, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions. Assist in recruiting, hiring and training the Assistant Program and Outreach Director. Participate in Personalized Service Plans (PSP) and refer to each resident profile and addendum for new residents. Ensure a variety of appropriate, personalized activities available throughout the day and evening with resident care associate participation. Maintain the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook, including daily tracking of resident interest and participation. Use resident demographic information to organize small groups or clubs addressing similar needs and preferences. Recognize changes in residents’ conditions and take appropriate action. Assist residents to and from activity rooms when necessary; in memory care assist with Life Skills and other enriching activities and routines. Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies, games, programs and crafts. Schedule, communicate, facilitate, and record monthly resident Council meetings. Qualifications Education: Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology, or related field; preferred. 1–3 years of experience in senior living/skilled nursing activity and event planning; may include responsibilities outside the senior living industry. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living industry and Dementia care preferred. Physical Requirements In an 8-hour workday, may stand/walk; hours at a time: 0–2; total hours/day: 4–6. In an 8-hour workday, may sit; hours at a time: 0–2; total hours/day: 2–4. In an 8-hour workday, may drive; 30–60 minutes, 1–2 times a week. Physical tasks: support/assist residents (maximum 50 lbs.); occasionally 150 lbs.; lift/carry up to 40 lbs. (occasional up to 70 lbs.); height of lift 3–4 feet; distance of carry ~30 yards. Repetitive hand use for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation.
